Espace San Bernardo Ski Area- La Thuile
Espace San Bernardo is the temple of downhill skiing. A vast international ski area divided between Italy and France that links the resorts of La Thuile in Valle d’Aosta and La Rosière in Savoie. A reference point for ski enthusiasts in the great outdoors. In winter, this border paradise welcomes skiers from all over the world, offering 152 kilometres of pistes for all tastes, both for beginners and experts, with alternating tracks of varying difficulty.
DESCRIPTION
82 ski slopes, a single international ski pass and 38 modern and fast ski lifts (with a total capacity of 63,200 persons/hour), allow you to enjoy fantastic days on the snow, eliminate queues and ski non-stop.
Espace San Bernardo also includes 2 slalom areas, a snowpark, a boarder cross slope, a fun cross area, a secured free rider area, a snowkite area easily accessible by lifts, and 2 children’s playgrounds to meet all needs.
The “Espace San Bernardo” app can be downloaded free of charge from the iOS and Android stores. With just one click, you can get real-time information on the slopes, lifts, webcams and buy your ski pass directly.
The highest mountain in the area is Mont Valaisan (2,800 metres), which can be reached by two modern chairlifts from both the French and Italian sides via the Belvedere (2,650 metres): from these points, the 360° view of the peaks (French and Italian) is breathtaking and exciting.
It only takes a few minutes to reach the slopes from the village (1,441 m), thanks to the fast cable car that takes you straight up to Les Suches (2,200 m; capacity of over 3,000 people/hour). Fun is guaranteed by boarding one of the customised cabins: the Skisauna (made like a real sauna at the Pré-Saint-Didier spa) or the Ricola Cabin.
Stunning views of the dazzling Rutor glacier and the Mont Blanc range guarantee an experience that is not only sport, but also a pleasure for the eyes and mind.
