The Tor Automne is part of the “Tor a pia” (Tour on foot) project started years ago by three passionate trailers who have recovered old tracks, sometimes unmapped, but full of history and nature. Created as training trails for trail running races, they can be walked at any speed. The proposed route follows that of several paths marked with the classic yellow colour, a detailed description is available at www.torapia.com.

The route covers the municipalities of La Salle and Morgex and starts right from the sports field of the latter. It runs all along the orographic left of the Dora Baltea and allows you to discover hidden corners of Valdigne. You walk along the side of a ru, a stream, now disused, cross an avalanche channel (not allowed in winter!), if conditions allow, you can ford the Colomba stream and cross several villages full of history. You will never reach high altitudes, but you will still be able to enjoy a marvellous view of Valdigne from above.
